Weather conditions forced Conley’s home track meet to end before completion on Wednesday, action stopped with 5 events (300IH, 800m, 200m, 3200m and 4x400m relay) remaining. At the time Conley was locked in a tight battle with Eastern Wayne and New Bern with three of Conley’s best events coming up!
Four Vikings came away with 1st place finishes before the action stopped. Yoerick Bastardo won the long jump (19’10”), Josh Drew won the 110 high hurdles (16.3), Brock Lasure won the discus (147’0″) and Jalen Wilson remained on the season, this time winning the 1600m in a time of 4:44.
Also scoring high finishes for the Vikings were Seth McKinney in the 1600m(2nd, 4:52), Garrett Miller in the 1600 (3rd, 4:58), Kevin Payton in the 110HH (2nd, 17.0), Deshaun Blount in the HJ (2nd, 5’8.5″). The 4x800m relay team of Owen Thorndike, Nate McPherson, Kyle Hardee and Bryson Bowen also placed 2nd in a time 9:29.
