Led by Emma Cole, Conley girls scored big points in the distance events in route to a 3rd place finish at the ECC Track & Field Championships in New Bern on Thursday. Hayley Ferrell, Eve Curtis, Annika Stoakes and Cole started the day by winning the 4x800m relay with a time 11:04. Cole would comeback to win the 1600m, with Curtis taking 3rd(6:19) and Caitlin Brown taking 6th(6:33). In the 800m Conley would pick up to 5 finishes from Ferrell (2nd, 2:38), Cole (3rd, 2:43) and Stoakes (5th, 2:46). Channing Mitchell finished 2nd in the 3200m in a time of 14:16, followed by teammates Alice Guth (3rd, 14:46) and Hannah Higgens (7th, 15:33).

In the sprints the vikings picked up big points from Riviera Bennett as she placed 4th in the 100 hurdles (18.2) and 7th in 300 hurdles (55.9). Nadiyah Randolph ran a personal best of 27.9 to place 4th in the 200m. Randolph would come back to lead the 4×100 relay team (Ariana Crumpler, Brianna Dempsey and Kate Lysaight) to a 4th place finish.

Crumpler, Dempsey and Lysaight would come back to score points in several field events. Crumpler placed in the discus (100’8″) and shot put(5th, 30’8″), Dempsey in the discus (4th, 91’4″) and Lysaight in the long jump (7th, 15’10”)

The 4 x 400 relay team (Alyssa Rambert, Taylor Buck, Abby Yoon and Hadlee Halsall) placed 4th with a time of 4:54.
