Conley dominated the distance events in route to a 2nd place finish at the ECC Track & Field Championships in New Bern on Thursday.
Eli Orians, AJ Miller, Jalen Wilson and Zach Tucker started the day off winning the 4×800 with a time of 8:43. Wilson, Tucker and Orians would comeback to sweep the 800m, finishing 1-2-3 with times of 2:02.2, 2:02.6 & 2:03.8 respectively.
In the 1600 Seth McKinney would place 2nd with a time of 4:41, followed by Peyton Walters with a time of 4:52. Walters would come back to win the 3200m in a time of 10:53, followed by teammates Owen Thorndike (3rd, 11:12) and John Anderson (4th, 11:35).
For the throwers, Brock Lasure had a strong day by placing 2nd in the discus (124′ 7″) and 6th in the shot put (40′ 11″). Reed Chandler took 3rd in the discus with a throw of 118′ 11″.
Coleman Ferrell battled through an injury to take 3rd in the 400m with a time of 51.8. In the hurdles Kevin Payton scored in both the 110H and the 300IH.

Several Vikings will compete at the NCHSAA 3A east regional championships next week at Franklinton.
