Conley girls recorded some their fastest times of the season on Saturday as they took on many of the top teams in the southeast United States at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary. The Vikings placed 38th out of 45 teams in the Blue section race that was won by Sarasota HS of Florida. St. Marks of Delaware and Harrison HS of Georgia finished 2nd and 3rd.
Annika Stoakes was Conley’s fastest girl, placing 126th out of 330 runners with her fastest time of the season, 21:34. Also scoring for Conley with season best times were Eve Curtis (185, 22:05), Abby Yoon (201st, 22:19), Channing Mitchell (203rd, 22:20), Alice Guth (237, 22:42) and Hadlee Halsell (255th, 23:08). In the JV section Conley also scored fast times as Caitlin Brown (154th, 24:05), Madeline O’Beirne (172nd, 24:33) and Alisha Anderson (195th, 25:11) ran season bests.
