Conley boys XC placed 7th out of 34 schools in the Seeded Invitational section of Great American XC Festival on Saturday in Cary, NC. Teams traveled from around the country to compete in the Race of Champions, with the Seeded Invitational section featuring many of the top teams from the southeast United States. St. Xavier of Louisville KY had a low score of 169 in the tight battle of top schools to edge out West Forsyth (187 pts) of Atlanta, GA and Walter Johnson (197 pts) of Bethesda MD. Conley had 238 pts.
Peyton Walters was Conleys top runner, running a school record time of 16:19 to place 33rd out of 255 runners. Right behind him was Seth McKinney (43rd, 16:31), Jalen Wilson (47th, 16:33), Nathan Geyer (57th, 16:41) and Owen Thorndike (84th, 16:55).
Additionally, Conley finished 5th in their section of the JV Races, with Kyle Hardee earning a medal with a 19th place finish in a personal best time of 18:21. Also scoring with personal bests in the JV section was Zach Hills (26th, 18:34), Nate McPherson (27th, 18:34), Carter Adrias (41st, 18:51), Scout Hill (53rd, 19:19), Noah Anderson (69th, 19:47) and James Heritage (19:51).
