Girls Varsity Track · Viking athletes qualify for 3A East Regional T&F Championship


The NCHSAA announced on Tuesday the competitors for 3A East Regional Championships to be held in Frankinton on Saturday, May 11th.

The top 16 competitors per event in the East qualify to compete, and the top four from each event will advance to the NCHSAA 3A State Championship to be held Friday, May 17th in Greensboro.  With 28 schools, the 3A East region is the largest in the state and is considered one of the toughest to qualify for due to the depth of field in each event.

Leading the Vikings is A’riana Crumpler who comes into the meet ranked 1st in the Discus and 7th in the Shot Put, and Emma Cole who qualified in two individual events (800m, 1600m) as well as a running on the 4x800m relay team.

Other Conley athletes who qualified are:
-Riviera Bennett, SR: 100H (16th)
-Brianna Dempsey, SO: Discus (14th)
-Hayley Ferrell, SO: 800m(14th)
-Kate Lysaight, FR: Long Jump (15th)
-Annika Stoakes, SO: 800m (15th)

In addition Conley qualified 2 relay teams.  The 4x800m relay team of Cole, Ferrell, Stoakes and freshman Eve Curtis qualified 10th. The 4x100m relay team of Lysaight, Dempsey, Nadiyah Randolph, Hadlee Halsall and Brianna Dempsey qualified 16th.
